AS OF THE DATE OF RELEASE FOR THE ELECTRONIC MAGAZINE, MARCH 16, 2012,  MILK & HONEY (DEREK), EBAY USERNAME "MLKHNY", HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN TWO ONLINE DISPUTES. IN THIS SECOND DISPUTE, A BUYER CONTACTED ME WITH AN OFFER BELOW THE AUCTION ASKING PRICE, WITH THE SPECIFIC CONCERN / CONDITION THAT HE NEED TRAVEL A GREAT DISTANCE FOR PICKUP AND WOULD BE PURCHASING THE COMPLETE LISTED ASSORTMENT OF RELATED SAILBOAT HARDWARE UPON HIS ARRIVAL. AFTER THE COMPLETED SALE AT THE REDUCED RATE, BOTH ELEMENTS OF THIS OFFER WERE RETRACTED AND, SUBSEQUENTLY, SHIPPING OF THE LISTED ITEMS BECAME A NECESSITY. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MERCHANDISE THE BUYER RECEIVED, WHICH WAS ADDRESSED, AND WHAT FOLLOWS IS THE LETTER TO THE EBAY HIGH VALUE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT IN REFERENCE TO THIS DISPUTE. PRIOR TO THIS EVENT, AND ALSO SUBSEQUENT TO IT, "MLKHNY" HAS RECEIVED, IN APPROXIMATELY 50 TRANSACTIONS, PERFECT FEEDBACK, AND HAS NEVER LEFT A NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR OTHERS (THIS FORMAT IS USED HERE SIMPLY TO TELL THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY... EVEN IN THIS CASE, NO NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WAS LEFT ON THE CLAIMANT'S ACCOUNT...). THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE SINCE "MLKHNY"S ACCOUNT WAS OPENED ON AUGUST 12, 2004. IN THE LETTER BELOW, SENSITIVE, IDENTIFYING PERSONAL INFORMATION HAS BEEN BLACKED OUT FOR SECURITY PURPOSES. EVERY REASONABLE EFFORT HAS BEEN MADE TO SHIELD THE CLAIMANT'S IDENTITY. THE IDEA HERE IS NOT TO HARASS OR UNDERMINE ANYONE'S EFFORTS AT JUSTICE, RATHER TO DEMONSTRATE THE, PERHAPS UNRECOGNIZED, NUANCED, TEXTURED LAYERS OF VALUE DISAGREEMENT IN ANY GIVEN CLAIM. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, THIS SPECIFIC CLAIM WAS DROPPED. THE OFFERS INCLUDED IN THE NEGOTIATION BELOW WOULD, SINCE, BE AVAILABLE ON ADDITIONAL SUBSEQUENT PURCHASES, AND NOT FOR THIS PURCHASE, AS THIS WAS NOT A SUCCESSFUL TRANSACTION, UNFORTUNATELY. I THINK THAT THE POINT IN POSTING THIS IS TO DEMONSTRATE HOW THINGS CAN GO WRONG, AND WHAT CAN BE LEARNED FROM THE SITUATION... AND HOPEFULLY THIS IS OF SOME ASSISTANCE. IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, THE CREDIT PROCESSORS' CLAIMS DEPARTMENTS ARE VERY REASONABLE PEOPLE AND IT SHOULD, HOPEFULLY, BE POSSIBLE FOR ALL PARTIES TO FIND REASONABLE SATISFACTION IN THEIR TRANSACTIONS, GIVEN THEIR ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE, AND SATISFY THEMSELVES, MOVING FORWARD... HERE AT MILK & HONEY WE WISH ALL PEOPLE WELL, AND HOPE FOR MANY SUCCESSFUL FUTURE VALUE EXCHANGES FOR EVERYONE... COMMUNICATION DOES SEEM TO FACILITATE THIS PROCESS... THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
